Sunday 24th March 2013
That this event is going ahead but has been re-located to Dorney Lake. This is still a public event and food, drinks and parking are all available at Dorney.
In March Temple Island Meadows is host to The Henley Boat Races, a series of private matches between representative crews from Oxford and Cambridge, which take place each Spring over Henley Reach on the River Thames, the venue for Henley Royal Regatta.
The Henley Boat Races were founded in 1975 by Richard Bates, an undergraduate at St John's College, Cambridge, when he arranged the first Lightweight Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge over Henley Reach. This echoed the first Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race, which took place at Henley in 1829.
Temple Island Meadows facilities will be open from 10.30am with Tapenade providing an array of mouth watering food through out the days, along with licensed bar, serving beers the very best Brakespears, soft drinks, wines and spirits.
Parking entrance is via the main access way into Temple Island Meadows next to Remenham church.
Please note: Picnics are not permitted in Temple Island Meadows.
